It relies on upon with whom you converse with. The supporters of decision gathering would say that this day as a Liberation Day which signifies "second conception giving day". For some other individuals, it won't not be so clear like this. There are genius and cons for commending the 7. January.

On 5.10.11, in Memot, Prime Minister Hun Sen said that "January 7 freed everything, including phantom and malice spirits and even freed the leaders of the individuals who are reviling January 7". For Ke Sovannaroth, Secretary General of the Sam Rainsy Party: "We don't welcome this festival", rather October 23, 1991, the Paris Peace accord (PPP, 6 Jan 2011). Let the history judges on this point. Actually some place in the middle.

Tomorrow, it will be the 32 Anniversary of the triumph over the genocide administration of Pol Pot, which led Cambodia from 17 April 1975 to 6 January 1979. Amid the 3 years 8 months and 20 days, Pol Pot and his club could change Cambodia from a war-torn nation in 1975 into the Stone Age socialism. Around 2 million individuals, fundamentally instructed and grown-up individuals, lost their lives because of mass killings, hunger, exhaust, sicknesses and so forth.

At the point when the triumph of 7 January 1979 happened, I, 16 years of age, was living in Muk Chhneang town, Spean Sreng cooperative, Phnom Srok locale, (previous) Battambang area; now it is changed to Banteay Meanchey territory. The town is around 450 km from Phnom Penh. Our town is at the outskirt to Siem Reap area, simply partitioned by Spean Sreng River. In our town, no one knew ahead of time what happened on that day in Phnom Penh since we were not permitted to claim anything, with the exception of one spoon and a basic plate. On 10 January, despite everything we had town meeting sorted out by the units of the Khmer Rouge (KR). All of a sudden, we heard intermittently commotions of artillery's' shells, far from us. We watched that the Khmer Rouge's frameworks were apprehensive and later they vanished from the scene, letting us staying there without recognizing what to do. A few individuals whispered that there may be some change in Phnom Penh. The news of progress in Phnom Penh spreads quick. Since there were no head of the town and KR officers, individuals trusted that the administration is by one means or another topple. They began to collect rice from the paddy field to cook rice all alone, cooked and ate unreservedly, surprisingly. We had a full stomage, since it was never happend amid this administration. It was a feeling of incredible discharge for all. One day, the KR carders returned and undermined to rebuff every one of us. Yet, it didn't keep going long, until they got away once more, to the wilderness.

A few days after the fact, I and my relatives took the enterprise trip and strolled with minor assets in the bearing to Phnom Penh. We went by the KR officers, the cutting edge, the battling zones lastly we experienced Vietnamese troops. It was a major astonishment for us that our "lives friends in need" are our "adversaries" as the Pol Potist would call them. There has been no benevolent relationship in the middle of Cambodian and Vietnamese individuals because of the biting history of vanquishing and adding parts of Cambodia to Vietnam before. There are still doubt between individuals. Yet, for us it was sufficiently hard amid the Pol Pot's administration. May be it is nothing more regrettable than that. It is a long history until the day we came to Phnom Penh, in March 1980. I will compose more in my next articles in this online journal.

What does this day intends to me? In short: To me, the relentless Vietnamese troops, together with their weaker and littler Cambodian partners, were sent to attack, free and spare a large number of lives of Cambodian individuals, including myself and all my relatives. On the off chance that they would not come to help us, we couldn't envision what sort of tests Pol Pot and his faction would do with us? I am not certain on the off chance that I would survive sufficiently long. I was a skeleton, a passing body with a living and as yet working heart. I am all that much appreciative to this recorded date and to all Cambodian and Vietnamese troopers who lost their life amid the war to spare our own. We ought not overlook this.

The fact of the matter is that some of our lives guardian angels and pioneers of the decision party turned themselves from poor communists or/and dreamers to industrialists or/and multi-mogul while following 32 years, 26% of standard Cambodians are as yet attempting to get by from everyday. In 1979, we were all similarly poor. The equitable society they battled for is still far away. The crevice in the middle of rich and poor are not littler at this point. How about we us cooperate for a superior Cambodia for all Cambodians.
